A Change in Direction

A wee while back I tried to resurrect my Lifestyle Improvement blog, and it survived for a couple of posts. To be honest, my heart just wasn't in it because the impact of its initial incarnation was always going to be a hard act to follow. Now though, as a follow up blog I've decided to create this one, about running!

Some of you will already know that this has become a bit of a hobby of mine, and I enjoy all the geeky stuff that goes with it. By that I mean the kit, the shoes, the technology, the websites, the various distances and events, the chase after PB times (occasionally) and the nutrition and muscle targeting exercise regimes. Obviously the last two are closely connected to the previous blog, and they are also the areas where I find it hardest to apply the required discipline.

In my next post (a.k.a. the first proper post) I'll be first looking back at how I got to where I am now with my running, the folk who have been with me on the journey, and others who have supported or encouraged me in various ways.

After that I'll be looking at my targets for next year and what it's probably going to take to achieve them.

I hope you'll be interested in following this blog. One thing I did find out when I started running myself was the number of you who are already runners, or had been in the past.
